NRA/NSSP Smallbore Light Rifle 3-P Postal Match

NRA and the Royal Rangers have developed a shooting program to offer Royal Rangers across the country an opportunity to participate in several nationwide postal matches.

PREREQUISITE

It is recommended that Air Gun Safety, Marksmanship and Smallbore Safety merits be completed prior to participation in the postal programs.

MATCH CONDITIONS

Eye protection is required during this event by the Royal Rangers.

ELIGIBILITY

An individual may enter this match only once per calendar year. All competitors must be a Boy who is part of a Royal Ranger Outpost.

FIRING DATES

Competition will begin on January 1st of each calendar year and will end on December 31st. All scores must be returned to The NSSP and postmarked by January 15th of the following year

FEES

Individuals $10.00 each. Teams $15.00 each.
All team members must enter as individuals.
(Example: 5 individuals at $50.00 and one $15.00 team fee for a total of $65.00 for one 5 member team).
You can send a check for your fees to ( NSSP  P.O. Box 7724 Riverside, CA. 92513-7724).

ADMINISTRATION

Complete the entry form attached and return to the NSSP. You will use the score reporting form listed below to record the match scores.

TARGETS

NRA A-17. Official NRA targets must be used.
Shooter’s name and position being shot will be printed in the upper right hand corner of each target.
Target acquisition is the responsibility of the competitor. NRA official targets are required. For a list of licensed target manufacturers’ visit:

Sponsors keep all targets until the challenge period has ended and all results are final.

SCORING

Each target must be scored by two individuals and in accordance with NRA Rules. If targets are scored electronically; verification by two individuals is not required. You do not need to mail in the targets themselves, just the score form.

AWARDS

Individuals – 1st Place - 5th place winners will receive a medal and a certificate  

Team –  Each Team will receive individual medals and certificates.

CATEGORIES

Shooters will enter in only one of the following categories:

Junior: 14-15 years old: (in calendar year of birthday)
Senior: 16-18* years old: (in calendar year of birthday)
Adult: Must be member of church that has a chartered Outpost.
* To compete as an 18 year old junior, the competitor must be an Expedition Ranger and still in high school.

TEAM MATCH

The team match is an unfired match generated by the fired scores of four (4) participating individuals.

The team category will be determined by the age of the oldest team member.

SMALLBORE TARGETS

NRA A-17. Official NRA targets must be used.

COURSE OF FIRE

30 Shots total at 50 feet.
10 Shots prone in l l/2 min per record shot.
10 shots standing in l l/2 min per record shot.
10 shots kneeling in l l/2 min per record shot.
Targets are to be fired in the order stated above.
